We bought a lot of our son’s onesies and other items (including a crib) at a consignment shop. A lot of sports and exercise equipment can be bought used, and work just fine. I used an old seat cushion I had and wrapped it with brand new material from another garage sale to pretty it up and make it softer, then stacked new throw pillows I found at yet another sale for $.50 It was missing the software, but thanks to the internet, I had no trouble finding a driver that worked.

I took at least three trunks full of “stuff” to Goodwill, I had a garage sale, and I sold things online. Know that not all children’s art work can be kept. My children love to draw and paint, and I love seeing their work. Three years ago, before we moved to our current home, I decluttered.

I started when I went back to work after staying home with the kids for a decade and kept it up through 23 years in a career and now through almost 2 years in retirement. Research indicates that people who work out first thing in the morning are more apt to stick to it. I actually started working out in the morning by accident.

My son had a tile cutter which he loaned to me. I scouted for tiles as I went to garage sales for other items and was lucky enough to find not only a big lot of beautiful travertine tiles, but also two very usable Kohler bath faucets – for which we bought one replacement part off the Kohler repair site.
