Another benefit is that I am cutting the governments out of the loop – there no sales taxes on used stuff (except big things of course, like boats or cars). Here is a short list of some of my favorite finds at garage, estate and thrift store sales. I used it for years and sold it – for $25 – last summer in my own garage sale.

I keep a roll of heavy paper (which I buy at Home Depot for about $11 for a roll about 2 inches thick and 2 feet wide) to use in wrapping packages, protecting floors during home projects, making garage sale signs and etc. I will probably use an old garage sale board game as the base, and just glue the printed game mat to it.

This was hubby’s hobby, but I thought maybe we could sell the birds (quail is good eating!). I’ve always loved going to sales – garage sales, estate sales, auctions, moving sales – no matter. To be successful, I think you need access to free or really cheap bulk sale items.

However, she enjoyed her hobby immensely and kept right on collecting things of interest to her. That same person may troll neighborhood garage sales and offer to cart away anything left after the sale for free. At the time, she thought she would be making big bucks off of her collections. Enjoy your collections.
