I sanded it down in my dad’s garage. I didn’t have a pressing need for it, so I really could not find the motivation to do something with it. I tackled one of these last year, to serve as a nightstand in Lisey’s room. I did this one while I was still living with my parents, actually.

We have led 7 sessions of Financial Peace University mostly to keep ourselves motivated. We sold extra items that we weren’t using through Craigslist and garage sales. When you can agree on a common goal then you both be very excited and motivated to get the debt paid off. We sold our house so now we are on Baby Step 4!

Finally, we are able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and are more motivated than ever to pay off these final two loans. I want to go through our basement, closets, and garage to look for unused items that we can sell. Between 2013 – 2015, we whittled that down and as of today we have just two loans left.

Countless motivational preachers and speakers suggest that we visualize what it is that we seek. Instead of repairing a storm damaged garage roof (with money given to her for that purpose), she asked life for a trip to London and got it. He ended up getting a full ride scholarship!

Feel Superior – Stay Motivated. Step platform with 2 steps – purchased at a garage sale for $2. One Thanksgiving I noticed they were having a Turkey Trot so I joined up to do that the next year – it was a 5K so that motivated me to ‘train’ even more.
