While the cost of living in our new town in Pennsylvania is higher than we experienced in Utah, we are actually saving money each month due to downsizing. Our gas and electric bills have been smaller since we moved. Now that we don’t have to pay extra for repairs or for maintenance, we are saving a bit each month.

We then looked at how much each item in that group cost us; gas, property and car insurance, maintenance, etc. 400/month gas for truck. 130/month gas for car. Both of our jobs require access to a car now and then, and I often must drive to communities which don’t have access to public transit for my work.

Going green can help improve your health, and save you money.
