We spoiled our children and we apparently are even more intent on doing so with our grandchildren! My parents were somewhat more interactive with their grandchildren (my kids). They provided Christmas and birthday toys and on occasion provided direct financial aid. Why are we spending more on our grandchildren?

When she saw that her great-grandchildren were not writing thank you notes for her gifts to them, she sent their parents a set of Thank you note cards with envelopes and postage! Kids who don’t express gratitude get cut off of her gift list rather quickly! She is spunky and outspoken. How can gratitude make you wealthier?

Occasionally, hubby and I have discussed digging a well, building an outhouse and putting in another wood stove and I have on rare occasion considered buying a generator. Give cash gifts to my adult children with suggestions to buy in the down market. Most likely that is as far as I will go.
