Our two goats I’m planning to milk next year We also have a big garden, fruit trees, a medicinal herb garden and grow some cut flowers. We spend most of our time seeing friends and family, participating in our church activities or working on our property. I do a lot of our cooking from scratch which takes a lot of my time!

Growing up, she excelled in academics, receiving top grades all the way through school and then going on to get a master degree in biological sciences and even completing most of the course of study for a doctorate. Although friends tried to help by offering part time employment, she was unable to keep a paying job.

I currently work part-time from home, mostly behind a computer. I never really figured out what I want to be when I grow up so I’ve done a lot of different things. I learned how to repair my own car. I live just outside of Richmond, VA with my husband, 18-year-old twin daughters, and our two dogs. I’m 52.

We also grow a large garden & lots of flowers, fruit trees & a 100-year-old grapevine. Now-I’m a single parent who works part-time, cares for my elder mother, homeschools & runs a farm. What’s the easiest/hardest part of being frugal? We have sheep, an old goat, chickens, guineas, dogs & cats.

I’ve been teaching part time for over 25 years. I like to bake and read, and I spend time chauffeuring kids to activities and games. I volunteer at my kids’ school at lunch time and other events.
