Use Up Existing Resources. Although friends tried to help by offering part time employment, she was unable to keep a paying job. Since she could no longer afford to pay it, she stopped the home insurance and stopped using the cars she inherited (also free and clear). Don’t Pay Your Taxes.

He actually gets about 2/3 of his parting salary in pension form, even when providing me with a survivor benefit. Health insurance is a bit more pricy than when employed, but less than a lot of other people pay. Remember to include taxes as an expense. Part of that is passing money to them in the form of annual gifts.

However, it produces a small part-time income from side-bar ads and affiliate commissions. This side hustle income was mainly used for the fun stuff, such as camping, home renovations & repairs, and needs for our kids. We’re no spring chickens, so in November 2016, we started contributing again to our retirement.
