After 7 years of renting it to vacationers on a nightly basis, and using it occasionally ourselves, I have decided to let a local company lease it on a yearly basis. Do you need to replace the doors or would a fresh coat of paint suit you? When I redid ours, I used that spray meant to re enamel tubs to re-finish the vanity tops. I sanded and re-stained the wood cabinet and fashioned a matching frame for the mirror out of molding strips from Lowes that I got for about $3 each.

Dad required me to learn to use tools and perform tasks which, at the time, were considered for boys only. I learned to change the oil, rotate the tires, use power tools, cut the grass, paint the house, work with concrete and much more. He took an art class by mail and painted landscapes in oil. Try new things.

To get the best contractor to re-roof your house, you have to negotiate. They wanted all new furniture for their home so they shopped around to find the store they wanted to use. Perhaps the city wants to use your land for some public work and invokes eminent domain laws to take an easement. Everything is negotiable.
