Deep annual cleaning, general maintenance, painting and repairing and re-stocking with lost items are just a few of the kinds of work you won’t miss when you lease it yearly. I wash all the nick knacks and silk plants and I paint any and all spots that need painting. Your family won’t gather there anymore.

Possible sources include: Neighbors or real estate investors who tore out perfectly good materials and want to get rid of them. Garage or estate sales. Take time to shop around to figure out what exactly you want done. Thrift shops.

This is the first rule of real estate, right? The living room walls were painted in a sponge paint fashion, and the kitchen cabinets were a whitish-pink. Because we will likely sell the house again in less than ten years, our buying strategy was a bit different than most people’s. Location, location, location.

I learned to change the oil, rotate the tires, use power tools, cut the grass, paint the house, work with concrete and much more. He took an art class by mail and painted landscapes in oil. In his 50′s he studied real estate and the local housing market to find a home to fix up and sell. Try new things.
