By spending a little more on garden tools, we have higher quality items that don’t break as we use them. Indeed, our neighbor, who buys the cheapest he can find, has been through three sets of tools in the last seven years. Pay a little extra for a hotel closer to a downtown area and public transit? Sure thing!

Cutting Down on the Transportation Costs

Both of our jobs require access to a car now and then, and I often must drive to communities which don’t have access to public transit for my work. Right now, it is not realistic for us to become a one car family.
