So I took advantage of some good sales at Kohl’s and Target and bought her running capris, socks and two spring outfits. But I also found success at a thrift store. While at Target, I caught myself eyeing their basic, but cute short sleeved T-shirts. Can I find what I need at a second hand or thrift store?

In January, I only ventured into Target because our daughters wanted to go and spend some of their Christmas gift money. Can I find what I need at a second hand or thrift store? I have found new or gently worn name brand clothing, snow gear, shoes, household stuff, and books.

If you have an uneasiness when it comes to “used” clothing, know that there are many different tiers of second hand stores. Shop the Discount Chains. Spend the evening trying on eachothers’ discards. Another less than 5 dollar vintage piece… And now for the shoes. It was mostly about the shoes. And I need new jeans (I promise, I am going to get to the shoes!). Because we are broke, I’ve been trying on jeans at thrift stores, Ross, and second hand stores. Because shoes pretty much always fit.

The icing on the cake was when I was leaving Maine on my way home to Boston, I stopped at this awesome thrift store right before I got to the highway in York. I was so excited when I left the store, I could hardly contain myself. Then I come home and there is a package waiting for me from Target. This place was heaven!!
