When a building in our town went into foreclosure in 2012, we considered the opportunity to own. The building offered so much potential, but needed a lot of work and we set out to renovate our dream office. We had our daughters later in life and at a crucial time in our lives, I stopped our retirement contribution.

And I was pregnant with our youngest daughter, so what should have been a joyous year was quite a stressful one. Our small business was going well, so we said so long to renting office space and purchased a commercial property in the summer of 2012. It was a scary time for us. What got us through financially? Yep, life was good.
