I think I started reading FG regularly in 2018 or 2019. Being frugal allows me to stay at home with our little ones, which was always a goal of mine, and my husband has been very supportive of that. My husband and I bought our first home in 2013 when interest rates and housing prices were pretty low. homemade bagels!

I said goodbye to mini-van life in January when we traded in our 2007 Honda Odyssey for a 2018 Toyota Highlander. I talk a lot about debt freedom and that is still a goal of ours, and our Debt Freedom Plan will be adjusted. The original sticker price on the pre-owned car we bought was $14k more than what we paid.

Shop around for the best price for our big expenses, such as auto and home insurance, medical needs, and mortgage. Implement our Debt Freedom Plan. Last summer, I hired someone to completely dismantle and remove my largest box garden and ground garden, and plant grass seed for me at a very reasonable price, especially since it took him just a few hours and it would have taken me an entire weekend. We want to be debt free. We want to travel to Disney and Hawaii.

As I reflect back to January 2016, I started that year pretty determined to pay off the balance of our non-mortgage debts. Unfortunately, we did not hit that goal and in part, have made some major changes to our Debt Freedom Plan.
