In 2020, our financial goals were to read, research, and understand both college and retirement planning. The rest of the snowball went towards other things, such as a new-to-us vehicle, medical expenses, retirement contributions, and home repairs. We used the snowball method to pay off our non-mortgage debts.

At that time, our kids were 8 & 6, and now they’re both teenagers and wrapping up ninth & seventh grades. In January of 2020, we made summer plans (and bought airline tickets) to go see friends who moved to Europe. Currently, we’re working on steps 6, 7, and 8 simultaneously. Number 4 was knocked out in 2019.
