I had amassed $70 and thought it was a perfect addition to our Christmas account. In April, we received a small tax refund and I put $100 of our refund into our Christmas Savings account. In May, I made money from a yard sale and put $50 towards our Christmas savings. How did you do in August & September?

I was able to transfer the $100 to our savings account in July, but I''m still short from June when I needed to use some of the savings for other gifts that we needed to buy last month. To make up for the shortfall, I''ve decided to do a pantry challenge in August. Pick up extra hours at work. Cut your cable TV.

On the 25th of every month from January to November in 2019, I held a virtual meeting on the blog to give updates on our progress, motivate one another, and help all of us save for a cash Christmas. The club was open to anyone who wanted monthly accountability to save for a cash Christmas. My monthly savings goal was $100.

So far, the ministry has been working seemlessly. We generally don’t have a lot of medical bills–just the usual stuff like annual physicals, some blood work, and an occasional sick visit. He had his scheduling assistant call Medi-Share to confirm to save us the time.

To many, working with a spouse would be too difficult, but our individual strengths and weaknesses complement each other and the arrangement has worked well. We crunched the numbers, spoke with our accountant, and after much deliberation and negotiation, we bought the building that summer.

And back-to-school sales start creeping up this month (in Georgia, for some reason, some school start back on August 1st! — yes some counties in Georgia are backwards, I, as well wish they started end of August or start of September.). August is back to school sales (and for Georgia, school starts, as early as August 1st!!!)
