Found Money in January: I have an old savings account that I hold on to, because it’s at the same bank as my kids’ savings accounts. I chose this bank for the kids years ago when they had a summer program where a child could earn $10 if they read 10 books over the summer. My goal was to eliminate all unnecessary spending.

I like the online bank, Capital One 360 (referral link) , because it connects with your local checking account, but is not quickly assessable. If you came up short prior to July, find your monthly savings goal for July and any shortfall from February – June.

Here is the breakdown: Rebate Checks = $27.50. I don’t do a lot of rebate checks unless it’s something I am buying anyway. In years past, my goal each year was to pay for our trips entirely with ”free” money! March was pretty good to me…I was able to add $307.55 to our fund yay!!
