We live in the city, so we’re not allowed to hang our laundry outside. We’ve used this for about 6 weeks now, and we’ve been pleasantly surprised with how economical it is as well as how good it works. Don’t wash clothes until they’re truly dirty. Use mason jar containers. Conserve utilities.

In 2015 I’m challenging myself to rethink purchases by taking advantage of more cost effective solutions like borrowing, buying second hand, or just making do with what we already have. We also made a few new needed purchases for our home, such as a new patio umbrella and a cover for our gas grill.

Recycle – Of course you probably already know about this tip, and may have a recycling bin in your home. Tip: Try using newspaper instead of paper towels the next time you wash your windows. Not only will it save you money not buying as many paper towels, but it will get your windows streak-free! Buy in season.
