Since April, he made over $800 by selling 3 old bikes, unused furniture, a college fridge, a camping grill, a TV, and other misc stuff. We are in what I call our “shovel season of life” Our oldest daughter leaves for college in the fall of 2024 and we have a big savings goal to hit before then. Ask and ye shall receive!

I’m 47, married, and living amongst the cornfields in a college town in the Midwest U.S. Visiting family in Florida, we enjoy no-cost activities like visiting their beautiful beaches! The first few years after graduating, I racked up a large credit card debt and bought a new SUV that cost approximately the same as my annual salary.

For 20 or so years I’ve been homeschooling my kids, and am now down to about 1 1/2 (one full-time homeschooler, and one doing College Credit Plus with some support). We also want to get our kids through college without them having loans to pay back, and we are 1 out of 4 on that so far!

My childhood was split between Florida, Ohio and Minnesota. I am now back living in South Florida. I had $29,000 in MBA student loans, $14,000 in credit cards, and $13,000 in a car loan. I had also been teaching one class a quarter at a local career college so I increased to two classes a quarter. Where are you from?
