Shop with a List. If you find yourself throwing out a lot of food, you can remedy the problem by shopping with a list. Create a meal plan for the week, and base your grocery shopping list on what you will actually eat during the week. Compost kitchen waste to feed your garden. You can do the same.

Use compost, make your own. The Guardian’s article, How to Be a Thrifty Gardner dove to detail about making compost: “You should have about two-thirds brown stuff (carbon source) to one-third green (nitrogen). “ Recycle to fertilize. Spent coffee from your local coffee shops does the trick.

Pick up some reusable containers and shop in bulk for everything possible. Glass or metal can last a lifetime should you wish to reuse either one and are better recycling material than plastic is. Cardboard boxes can be used over and over again before needing to be recycled. Shredded paper can be put in compost piles.
