Costumes were typically home made but sometimes came from the dime store. Treats were mainly home made or low key – pop corn balls, cookies, apples or pennies.

No kids = no money on candy = no candy wrappers in the landfill. No kids = no parties or haunted houses = money saved. Tip # 2 Recycle/reuse costumes.
