We have led 7 sessions of Financial Peace University mostly to keep ourselves motivated. We sold extra items that we weren’t using through Craigslist and garage sales. We do meet every month to go over expenses and needs. When something unexpected comes up we have another budget meeting. Who could you give money to?

Well, I’ve been looking for people interested in exercising in my area, but the only groups I can find meet up at gyms. So I branched out to find a partner for motivation. Posting on Craigslist. Many of their ideas were inspiring and their stories continued to motivate me through the entire process. I also downsized my lifestyle and sold extra furniture, clothes, and jewelry, on Craigslist. The daily finances are handled my me, but my husband and I have weekly money check-ins and monthly budget meetings.

Find stuff on the side of the road and sell it on craigslist or Facebook. Nice visuals and monthly budget meetings kept us on track and accountable. Well that’s not in the budget so you better sell something on craigslist… Lamp sold, go get a pedi now. We had little temperature gauges that tracked our debt.
