Due to the recent high gas prices, he has been focused on researching gas credit card offers, most recently writing reviews of the 76 credit card and the Chase BP gas card. However he kindly reminds everyone that reducing your driving is the best way to save money on gas, as well as save the environment!

Transportation. Heading into the summer, gas prices will continue to go up, so transportation alternatives can really help. Carpooling, public transportation, and biking are all terrific ways to cut down trips to the gas pump while decreasing your own personal carbon footprint left on the environment.

Gas, food, coffee, accommodations, entertainment, and parking add up quickly, not to mention unforeseen expenses like things you may have forgotten from home. We usually go with one empty credit card, put everything on that ONE card so it’s easy to keep track of, and try our best not to go over our spending goal. Pack lunch!

Electric and hybrid cars save on gas costs and emissions, but they tend to be more expensive than gas-powered models. That way you keep both the glass and plastic bottles out of the landfill and you reduce the environmental impact of transporting water from draught-ridden areas. You should also prioritize your upgrades.

Know where the turn-off valves are for your gas and water. Broken water and gas mains can make an already difficult situation intolerable — and even more dangerous. Know how to turn these items off, and show children who are old enough to help how to turn off the water and gas. Credit card with an adequate limit.

Alcohol was dirt cheap in New Orleans, and transportation was a very small line on our budget in New York City. I don’t want to have a full meal every time my stomach grumbles, so to avoid the cost and caloric implications of café and gas station snacks, I pack my own in my suitcase and throw a few in my purse when I leave my hotel.
