I cried for days and we celebrated the occasion with a family cruise a few months later. In 2022, I wanted to do a major purge of our home , and that lasted until about January 15 of 2022 when I reorganized our kitchen cabinets. …enter 2023 We have not one, but two teenage high school daughters.

Being self-employed, we felt we needed more than Dave’s recommended $1000 starter emergency fund that he outlines in his book, so our first step was to save a bit more for our home and office. Also, we needed to make some much-needed repairs to our home and office that really couldn’t wait until we paid off six figures.

My oldest daughter and I started our morning with the Turkey Trot 5k. Once we got that settled, we cruised through the store. We were done in an hour and home by noon. When we got home, we ate a quick lunch and then took a trip to the Christmas tree farm. I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving.

Our daughter was accepted into the Disney College Program and will be checking in the first week of September. But that’s not all… my awesome husband TOTALLY surprised me with a CRUISE!!! If any of you have any advice for a cruise newbie, PLEASE help!! September 1st – My hubby comes home yay!!! sort-of teehee.

Many years later, one of her daughter’s husbands helped her apply for it – just a few years before her death in her 80’s. We would have been in a home much faster and could have gotten one in a better neighborhood than where we ended up. Unbeknownst to her, she was eligible for a VA Survivor’s Pension .
