That was the year that we made the goal of paying off the last of our non-mortgage debts and we achieved it by September of that year. I cried for days and we celebrated the occasion with a family cruise a few months later. It was a momentous occasion that was many years in the making. Progress was made, but not nearly enough.

We sent our very last payment to my husband’s student loan in September 2019, the same month I turned 50. We celebrated both occasions with a family cruise that we paid for with cash. We also had some building repairs that we needed to cash flow. Once the time came, we settled on a family cruise and had a fantastic time.
