I planted a small garden this year: 2 tomato plants, 1 cucumber, 1 pepper plant that sadly didn’t make it, and 1 butternut squash. My butternut plant yielded nine beautiful squashes. I use them in pasta sauce, soups, and in place of pumpkin in a lot of recipes. Plasma donation: $47. Garden Harvest.

Homemade Basil and Walnut Pesto: I made my second batch of homemade pesto from my two garden basil plants. My recipe: Fresh Basil Walnut Pesto. Plasma Donations: $420. I earned $420 from 5 donations and a $50 bonus in the month of July. My time spent averaged about 1 hour and 40 minutes per donation.

For starters, I didn’t donate plasma this month and that is usually my biggest source of extra cash. Noone ate the leftover corn, so I cut it off the cob and put it in the freezer to add to our favorite, Chicken, Black Bean & Corn Tacos | Slow Cooker Recipe. But in the end, $155 is still a gift. My spouse has many plantings around our several acres. When he plants something new that needs a steady supply of surface water, due to shallow roots, he sometimes uses a 2 liter soda bottle. He cuts small holes in bottom, fills with water and places it next to the baby plant to drip irrigate it. Two liter soda bottles.
