When you are working on a home renovation, buy your screws, nails, and other bits out of the bins and not those packaged in boxes. When you have old batteries that are no longer good, recycle them through your local agency. Buy in bulk or in loose.

The only drawback to using grocery bags is that they are not insulated, so if you need to keep something cold, they are not going to work. Clothing Bags If you donate clothing to your local thrift stores , then these bags can help you out. Recycle If none of these circumstances apply to you, you can always recycle your grocery bags.

We drive to work in cars that idle in long lines of traffic causing large amounts of pollution to enter the atmosphere. Do they recycle? Do they use recycled products? This saves on packaging as well as transportation because larger amounts can be shipped in one load. Donate $1 or $2 towards the cause. Pass it on.

Recycling is a simple and obvious practice that children can easily understand. Teach them how to recycle household items like plastic bottles, aluminum cans, paper, etc. You can even let them manage the responsibility in your household and reward with them with the earnings from recycling cans and bottles at local recycle centers.

Take care of your wardrobe to keep it looking work and wear worthy. Donate good clothing you really can’t use to a non-profit and bank the tax deduction. If that won’t work, hire a handyman to help you fix a broken (assuming the cost is estimated to be less than replacing). Use up your food. Go Frugal Go Green'

When people think of minimalism, they often picture families living an almost zero-waste lifestyle, meticulously composting and recycling so they only have a single bag of trash per year. We also work to cut the clutter from our lives. This can take a lot of work. We were tired of the clutter. He’s much happier.
