I have a grandmother who would never dream of buying containers to store leftovers or food for the freezer. The glass jars are perfect for storing my homemade sugar-free applesauce , homemade chicken stock , and roasted tomato sauce in the freezer. It seemed a bit wasteful.

Institute a 'Raid the Fridge' Night One night a week, raid the fridge to get rid of leftovers. Set the leftovers up buffet style. Everyone's plate might look different, but you'll at least use up the leftovers and reduce the waste. Utilize the Freezer Freeze those leftovers. Let us know in the comments.

A couple of notes to keep in mind: I keep a moderately stocked freezer with marked down meat , loss leaders , batch pre-cooked meat , cooked beans , homemade baked goods and sauces. I made a large batch of homemade sugar-free applesauce in March that I stored in the freezer. Lunches Included: leftovers. I even froze some.
