Your School’s Music Department May Already Have Instruments. Garage sales – I found a guitar for $5.00 once at a garage sale and bought it for my grandson. Relatives – Great Uncle Joe may still have that trumpet he used to play and might like to donate it to a future generation!

I used an old seat cushion I had and wrapped it with brand new material from another garage sale to pretty it up and make it softer, then stacked new throw pillows I found at yet another sale for $.50 I used it for years and sold it – for $25 – last summer in my own garage sale. Glass leftover containers 3 for $.75.

I had three baby showers when I was pregnant for my son–one from each side of the family and one from my co-workers. Many of the other items I needed like cloth diapers and clothes for the baby in bigger sizes I bought from garage sales. They may also enroll in other baby classes like music and swim lessons.

Understand what parts of the job may require code inspections and what the codes mean. My son had a tile cutter which he loaned to me. Talk to people you know to find who they may have used for their work. You may not want to go with the installer at the local big box – especially as a first option. Craigs list.

Home decorating is another area where it may be possible to sew your own cheaper than buying. I made a set of short drapes for my son’s room by simply putting a hem all around the fabric and attaching a tape at the top that let me insert hooks that made the pleats form. To decorate.

I love to shop garage sales. After you have identified what is needed by doing an inventory of what the kids already have that can be used or re-used and by getting together with friends, relatives and neighbors, you may be ready to hit some of the retail stores to buy the clothes, electronics, shoes and things.
