While I like to shop at thrift stores, I have a hard time finding TALL length jeans for my 5’10 frame and I was in need of new jeans. I went back to the register and left the store paying $20.14 I used coupons and shopped through the Rakuten portal and got a lot of deals at their favorite stores. stuff: $40.

April Update: I made 3 new purchases in April: I bought a pair of Teva flip flops from the clearance rack at DSW and two t-shirts at BJ’s Warehouse store. We also made a few new needed purchases for our home, such as a new patio umbrella and a cover for our gas grill. Can I find what I need at a second hand or thrift store?

Use your own car or SUV instead, and look for local campsites that’s easy to get to so you can save on gas. Borrow or buy a used tent.

Most food at the grocery store came from the USA. The only discount store was the 5 and dime aka ‘the dime store’ It did not sell food (except 1 penny candies). You physically went from store to store (or called on the phone) to compare prices and products. Most people were thin. Go Frugal'

Manual cars are generally cheaper than automatic and have better gas mileage because they are lighter weight). It’s not hard for me (anymore) to avoid expensive stores or fast fashion sites such as Shein and Temu, and instead shop at thrift stores or use my local BuyNothing group. This is recent.
