I yard sale and thrift all year long for my booth. I thought why am I not thrifting for more people on my gift giving list?

When many of us think about giving, the first thing that comes to mind is money. The reality, though, is that giving doesn’t always have to be about the money. Donate items : Since my son is an only child, his clothing doesn’t get a lot of heavy use. Don’t limit yourself to the thrift stores, either.

We got our clothes as hand me down from older cousins or from thrift stores. I’m not one of those parents who feels like I have to give my kids everything. Princess Diana knew that her sons couldn’t work minimum wage jobs. Give Back' My mom was an at home day care provider. Embrace the Negative!

My son with one of our baby goats I remember for many years looking at any recipe that asked for more than one kind of cheese and rejecting it right away. Additionally, it’s really important to us to have money to give to our kids so we save for that reason too. so I just needed to spend money carefully and save if I could.

My favorite thrift store has a section dedicated to seasonal items. The number and variety of Halloween items in this thrift store surprised me. How this holiday has changed since I was a child in the 1950’s, and even since I raised my own sons in the 1970’s/80’s!

I had three baby showers when I was pregnant for my son–one from each side of the family and one from my co-workers. My children get so many gifts from their grandparents and godparents that we’ve been able to scale back how many gifts we give them. There was very little I had to buy for my child after these showers.

There is a mother, worried over her grown son who was involved with drugs early in life and was recently hit by a car. Find a way to give something of yourself that makes you feel good about yourself. Give away a dollar in front of the thrift store. Help someone. Teach someone else something new. Think differently.
