Without power, nothing works – for most of us – no lights, no heat, no air conditioning, no entertainment, possibly no communication, maybe even no running water. Anything with electronic components will instantly stop working in the case of an EMP event. Phones still worked. But that was a localized event.

There is an Older Adult Transportation Service available in our area, and we do have a son in the metro and then there are always cabs.
