Now I’m living on the small acreage that I was raised on (which is now smack dab in the middle of town & 2 miles from work) with my mom & my two kids, 15 & 8. We teamwork together to homeschool-I was homeschooled until nursing school, and I am privileged to be teaching my kids & have my mom assist on the days I work.

Since the fall of 2005, I have primarily been a stay at home mother to our two daughters. I have spent the last nine years working part-time at my husband’s office, but I either worked from home or around my kids’ schedules. A schedule of school and work will now occupy our days.

I currently work part-time from home, mostly behind a computer. I had to reduce, and for long stretches, stop work altogether so I could help her and be available to take her to appointments or pick her up from school when she was ill. That there’s always still time to become more frugal. I’m 52.

When I opened up this space 4 years ago, I was a mother to a 3 year old and an infant. I was nursing a babe, had two kids in diapers, and prayed I didn't smell of breast milk when my husband came home from work. I'm working part-time outside of the home, 3 days a week, while our 4 year old attends pre-K.
