It is time to normalize gifting thrifted items. Normalize Gifting Thrifted Items: Shop all year long! I yard sale and thrift all year long for my booth. Why am I not thrifting gifts for my friends and family too. My bestie and I love to thrift together. Buying thrifted gifts is good for the environment.

We bought a lot of our son’s onesies and other items (including a crib) at a consignment shop. Garage sales, estate sales, and moving sales are all great places to look for used furniture. You can also find truly interesting pieces at estate sales. Baby Items. Are you too proud to buy used jewelry?

About five years ago, I started thrifting. My husband now teases me that I am the Indiana Jones of thrifting. Successful thrifting takes a little effort. Try these tips for a better thrifting experience. :: Don’t go in a rush and leave the kids at home (if you can). I note when my son’s jeans are in need replacement.

Not only will renovations provide pleasure and function to you, but they could increase the sale value of your home a bit. Garage or estate sales. Thrift shops. My son had a tile cutter which he loaned to me. I found wood frames for my national park posters and a wildlife themed shower curtain at the local thrift stores.

I had three baby showers when I was pregnant for my son–one from each side of the family and one from my co-workers. Many of the other items I needed like cloth diapers and clothes for the baby in bigger sizes I bought from garage sales. There was very little I had to buy for my child after these showers. I always give my son some incentive to spend the afternoon trying on his clothes! My son has 2 pairs of pants that he rarely wore. Don’t be afraid to shop yard sales, online auctions and thrift shops - You can shop at yardsales and thrift shops for great used clothing. Try everything on.

Fashion changes and new or nearly new clothing gets sold at sales or donated to charity. For me, going to sales is not just a means to find things I need at rock bottom prices, it is also entertainment.
