My family has a crawl space downstairs, a pantry upstairs, and a freezer in the garage. I remember helping my mother prepare corn and peas for the freezer while growing up. We ate one batch that week and the other is in my freezer ready to go. I like to keep homemade stock in the freezer. I store in the freezer and we eat it as a side dish many times a week. I chose this bank for the kids years ago when they had a summer program where a child could earn $10 if they read 10 books over the summer.

I will take advantage of that deal too and send the turkey to the food bank. If you have a freezer, roast the turkey immediately and freeze the cooked meat in 2 cup portions for future meals. Stretch your dollar even more and make homemade turkey stock that can also be stored in the freezer. I store mine in 32 oz glass jars.
