What are your hobbies? That’s one of my hobbies.) About $52,000 of that $147K was consumer debt (credit cards, a student loan, a car loan, a home improvement loan, etc.) From start to finish it took us a very long time — I would guess 10 years. But it wasn’t a decade of nothing but paying off debt.

Tell us about you and your family. What are your hobbies? The first and most important step to paying off our house, was buying a house we could afford. We made sure we could afford the monthly payments on a 15 year mortgage, with the mindset that we would pay more each month. I rarely use coupons.

Tell us about you and your family. What are your hobbies? We have a 5 year old son and are in the process of adopting our 2 year old and 4 month old foster sons, making us parents of 3 boys! We ended up buying a house from a relative, which put us in even more debt. Where are you from? Creativity.
