One of the things many of you may or may not know about me is that my entire university education has been acquired while working full time. When I was allotted TV time, I didn’t use it to watch the standard children’s shows. In Grade 12 I received a scholarship for the college that offered this program.

Talk to any alumni you may know (hint parents, cousins, that kid that went off to college last year) to see what they know about it.

I’m busy and it’s a lot of work, but I am delighted to be a full-time student. *Ok, But for the purposes of this post, I’m saying I’m glad I didn’t drop out of my second go-round with college. Ok, I did kinda drop out of school back in 1997! I always say that I took 24 gap years.

The first job, doing institutional research at a community college, was going to challenge my mind, use my refined research skills and writing ability, was in a more formal office setting and had the perks of free classes (which was nice if I wanted to do any sort of personal development). I sat down and analyzed each job.

This September I'll be a full time college student (taking all of four classes) My other half has also decided that he would like to go back to school and will be in college as well. Seriously, where did the summer go? My son is going into the 1st grade and his school supply list has over 60 items on it!

As always, life got in the way during the 2 years we spent writing FULL. Alayna graduated high school and moved away to college, all the while working on the book. She had to keep her “why” in mind every time she sat down to write in order to let go of the fear. Melissa’s challenges were more with scheduling time to write.
