Should you wash your clothes inside out? We frugal people are very interested in making our clothes last as long as possible, so I thought you’d like this Lifehacker article about the pros and cons of washing your clothing inside out. So I’ve been inadvertently washing a good proportion of my laundry inside out.

Up through the 1950′s in America, most housewives lined dried their clothes. Clothes dryers were around, but expensive. Driving across America on a sunny summer day, you could see lines full of clothes swaying in the wind all along the way. Line drying clothing saves dryer cycles. Line drying saves carbon emissions.

Getting your clothes clean is time consuming and usually ends up at the bottom of a long list of household chores. The average family does around 400 loads of laundry each year – which is a whole lot of time spent in the laundry room! Doing laundry doesn’t have to be at the bottom of your list any longer.
