When my own parents were the age that I am now, I was graduating from college. At my age, my parents had 20 years of kid-free living ahead of them to focus on their own career goals and to save for their retirement. We paid off our first renovation loan in December 2014 and the next loan should be paid off by the end of this summer.

I still enjoy setting goals, but knowing I'll be in school full time from the end of January-May, then again from September-December, I'm keeping my goals simple-ish. Since I'm in college, I want to maintain a GPA of 3.5 Between October and December ~ Go to bed before 11:30 pm. or higher!

A lot of life happened over 7 years and our plan changed slightly, but our goal remains to achieve complete freedom from debt. Our 2019 Financial Goal. After years of scrimping and saving and not spending extra money on things, we have achieved the biggest financial goal we have ever set for ourselves in our 19 years of marriage.

We met in college and currently both feel drawn toward higher education. We also were working on paying for Jon’s master’s degree and then my own masters degree, which I completed in December 2013. Who initiated the debt free goal? What are your hobbies? Jon and I have been married for three years.

The topic came to me when I realized that my husband and I haven’t really talked about our future financial goals in awhile. We talked about our 2018 financial goals back in late December, but we didn’t look past the current year. We want to help pay for our daughters’ college. We want to be debt free.
