This philosophy works for shoes, furniture, and many other items. Buying something cheap just because it’s a good deal falls into the category of “mindless consumerism” and it can lead to long-term money problems down the road. We don’t buy overpriced items that are just expensive, though.

I had never really been a proponent of online shopping, because it when I lived in the city it was easier to stop at the grocery store or mall after work than it was to order online and wait for the item to be delivered. Avoid Consumerism. Shop Online. It’s easy to be influenced if you’re not on target.

We are co-hosting a bday party for a dear friend of mine this Saturday and we are in charge of all the food. We are also working on planning our trip to Asia. We have had some kinks with our itinerary and corresponding flights so we have be trying to plan a route that works with the flight patterns. We are also flood planning.

My hubby and I had to work hard at finding a balance when we first hooked up since we had different views on some things. Since we have made a plan that works for both of us, things run much smoother and we are both happy. Financial Highway tells us how we can beat inflation with our food budget. Sounds awesome to me.

It’s absolutely nuts the amount of people who will complain about having a hard time saving money, who are living hand to mouth, who still eat lunch out every single day at work. We used to be able to just go shopping when new needed something; every time you go and buy something you won’t use, you’re buying into our consumerism culture.
