We’ve seen higher grocery and fuel bills lately, so we’re upping our frugal game to help the budget. Our financial goals are still important to us and we want to hit them regardless of the rising prices. I use the pesto as a sauce for hot pasta or pasta salad, pizza topping, and spread it over grilled chicken or fish.

As my kids have grown, I have expanded my work hours at our office and by the end of the week, I’m too cooked to cook , so take out it is!

For breakfast this week , I cooked up several packages of breakfast sausage that I found marked down breakfast sausage at the grocery store on Sunday. Even if you’re not hosting a big gathering, buy them. And at that price, it’s an easy way to make a big impact by donating to your local food banks. It’s awesome!

We used to spend hundreds of dollars a month going out to eat at restaurants. In fact, there was a time that I rarely cooked over the weekends, because we ate out so often. And during the warmer months, they encourage you to increase your thermostat while you’re at work and/or away from home. It saves us $67 a month.
