To stay motivated I would listen to the debt-free screams on The Dave Ramsey Show. We celebrated both occasions with a family cruise that we paid for with cash. During our debt payoff mode, we camped and went on beach trips with extended family, but never left the country…honestly, we never left the east coast.

In my spare time, I love hanging out with family and friends, running (I have completed three half marathons) and singing in my church choir. It took me five years to pay off my debt but two of those years I had a job loss, I was taking care of my grandparents and I had lost my motivation and drive to pay off the debt.
