And while I don’t like parting with our money, I am grateful that this repair won’t send us into financial distress. As part of Prudential’s Women Inspired campaign, I was encouraged to think about my dreams detailing my long-term goals and aspirations. I broke my goals into two categories: Financial and Personal. Our Financial Goals: Pay off our non-mortgage debt. Increase our emergency fund to 6 months of expenses.

My husband and I make some financial goals at the start of every year. When I run the numbers, I realize it’s going to take years before we can scream, ”WE’RE DEBT FREE”, our ultimate goal. This should start next week and my goal is to post on Fridays. Lots of possibilities and many opportunities.

A life goal of ours is. emergency fund, so we started throwing what little extra we had straight. Use all the food you have, and freeze it if you know you won’t use it up before it expires. If married, who initiated the debt free goal? What are your financial goals now? with my youth group.

We had tried other methods in the past, but found this one suited us best since it forced us to focus on one goal at a time, rather than trying to do it all (pay off debt and contribute to savings and retirement). Shop with a list, and not just for food. If married, who initiated the debt free goal?

A budget could help you avoid late and insufficient funds fees, find money for an upcoming trip or expense, and ease a disagreement over finances in a marriage.
