This means that after we take care of retirement and emergency fund contributions, and after everything else is taken care of, we have enough to do what we like. Our Big Financial Goal for 2016

I have made a pact with myself that if I don’t already own something that I need, I will either: make do with what I have, find said item at a thrift store, borrow, or forget about it. As long as they enjoy these activities and do well in school, they can continue on with them and we will continue to keep them in the budget.

Many other items, which if left untended cause safety issues should be handled soonest as well. Good thing we have that emergency fund because this won’t be cheap to fix.
