As a result of our spending changes, we were able to get our spending back in line, and we live comfortably — and get to do most of what we want. However, one of the reasons that this works for us is due to where we live. Living there would be a different animal altogether and it would take a much higher income to make do.

That was the month I didn’t know if we had enough funds to cover our expenses. Thankfully, we have worked through those trials and the experience actually made a positive impact on our finances. We work hard and really relish our time away. I wouldn’t wish that feeling on my worst enemy. I think I’ll survive.
