After I had kids, I swapped that time to growing all sorts of interesting heirloom foods in my backyard. We rented at first, but the rental situation in our new town was poor. Childhood joy.

If we stopped at 7-Eleven or picked up fast food, he’d take that notebook out and write down what was spent before driving away. Food is a major expense! We already pay for Netflix, and my son-in-law lets us use his Apple TV account, so I’ll report back with an update on this post after we’ve tried it for a couple of months!

We rented the scaffolding for $50 from Menards so I could finish this massive painting project. My son has a job at a local pizza place and he gets a free meal after every shift. Fancy restaurant food. I’d send some to my nieces to help with their college expenses and would donate half to our local food pantry.
