Garage sales take time, you have to hit quite a few before you find the item you want or need. If you want vintage or antique finds, older neighborhoods or houses in more rural areas may be your best bet.

Black Entertainment History at the Academy Museum

Shereen Travels Cheap

If that is too much for you, this exhibit may not be for you, but I greatly appreciated the story of where Black entertainers started and how they defied the odds to become stars, against all odds.

Don’t be a Buy-It-New Snob

Prairie Eco-Thrifter

Here is a short list of some of my favorite finds at garage, estate and thrift store sales.
