Use reusable containers with lids rather than plastic wrap and aluminum foil to store leftovers. Eat those leftovers! I have a good friend who hates leftovers and throws any away after a meal. By eating your leftovers, you are saving money and avoiding the land fills. Choose thrift first. That’s crazy!

Do you have some leftover wall paper you won’t be using? Shop garage sales and thrift stores and estate sales. Christmas decorations, wrap, bows and ribbon all are continuous offerings at pretty much every garage sale, thrift store or estate sale I’ve ever shopped. Be unusual. And, yes, save your paper.

Don’t limit yourself to the thrift stores, either. We usually send him home with the leftovers. They appreciate the clothes — and the fact that they don’t have to buy them. If you have goods in usable condition, you can donate them to charity, or to others who might need them.

Not enough time in the morning to make breakfast AND pack a lunch, one word: leftovers! I’m always amazed by the amount store tags I see on clothing and household item at thrift stores. And now you can thrift shop from the comforts of your own home with online thrift stores like thredUP. Dinner time is stressful.

Repurpose Leftovers My husband is very skilled at repurposing leftovers. This way the food doesn’t “feel” like leftovers!

Here is a short list of some of my favorite finds at garage, estate and thrift store sales. Glass leftover containers 3 for $.75. I don’t like to use plastic bags or throwaway containers for my leftovers – glass seems much cleaner. Rattan loveseat and ottoman – $25.

I made the pin myself by taking one of the leftover flowers from when I made this necklace , pulled two pins though the back of it; and wa -la, my flower pin. To finish the look, I wore my double tan belt, my new mesh peep-toe shoes I got for $12 at Forever 21, and these Sweetheart jeans I thrifted over the summer for $4.
