Save $10k in a savings account, specifically earmarked for medical expenses. I almost stopped writing goals down altogether.

2019 Debt Freedom Plan Update

2016 & 2017 Update. 2018 Update. In November 2016, we started contributing again to our retirement. Start Additional Savings Accounts. We have several things that we want to start saving for, such as a car replacement fund, some home repairs/updates, a new camper, and travel. 1st Update in June 2014.

An Update on Medi-Share – September 2017

After a lot of thought at the end of 2016, we decided to take a leap of faith (pun intended) and try Medi-Share, a health sharing ministry that is promoted as a biblical and affordable solution to traditional health insurance. As of today, we plan to renew with Medi-Share for 2018.

Medi-Share Update: One Year Later

However, on November 1, 2016, we logged on to healthcare.gov to renew for 2017 and found premiums had doubled and the options were limited. As you can see we saved significantly in 2017 with Medi-Share on our monthly payment. We used those funds to pay for our medical bills in 2017 and that account is now depleted and closed.
