The last time we wrote numbers-driven financial goals was 2019. …enter 2023 We have not one, but two teenage high school daughters. We want to assist our daughters with their college expenses. We have a number that we want to save for each daughter. My husband and I discussed some ideas over our holiday break.

I’m going to be spending the next few weeks giving my family’s finances a good spring cleaning. T – time-based, tangible, In 2019, we paid off six figures of non-mortgage debts. Around the time our second daughter was born, I found myself so overwhelmed and distracted that I missed paying the rent for our business office.

And I was pregnant with our youngest daughter, so what should have been a joyous year was quite a stressful one. When that loan was paid off, we put that full monthly amount towards the third loan and this continued until September 2019 when we made our last non-mortgage loan payment. It was a scary time for us. Our emergency fund.

We hit our Annual Household Portion (kind of like a deductible) of $10,000 with Medi-Share in 2017 when our daughter had an unexpected medical condition arise that required multiple tests, 3 surgeries, and medication. If nothing changes, this loan will be paid off by end of 2019, but I’d love to move that up and say adios to this loan!
