To ease my anxiety about our new loans, we took the Financial Peace University home course and it changed how we thought about debt. We loosely based our plan on Dave Ramsey’s 7 Baby Steps, but modified them to address our needs and lifestyle. Our 2019 Financial Goal. We can now move on to other financial goals.

How We Paid off Six Figures of Debt

In September 2019, my husband and I accomplished our biggest financial goal in our almost 20 years of marriage. Aside from the mortgage, we also added equipment and renovation loans with the purchase, and we had a student loan. It was so big that I cried for two days straight– we paid off six figures in non-mortgage debts.
